Agefield High Beginner Guide — Know This Before First Bell

✔ Last checked: 2026-08-13

Class starts today — the Steam unlock is at 4:00 PM UTC — and this is your orientation packet. Everything below is confirmed from Refugium Games’ own material, so you can hit the ground scheming the moment it downloads. No leaks, no guessed mechanics; where we’re inferring, we say so. Mission-by-mission walkthroughs follow once we’ve actually played it — we won’t publish a route we haven’t walked.

The daily loop (confirmed)

  1. Weekday mornings belong to school. The time system puts you in class until the afternoon. Five subjects exist: English, Math, Geography, German and Music.
  2. Grades pay. Good marks earn pocket money — the honest income stream.
  3. Skipping is a build. Cut class and the afternoon opens up for side missions and hustles (press coverage shows lawn mowing and prank calls) — but teachers, and eventually cops, are real threats if you get sloppy.
  4. Spend it downtown. Shops sell clothes, hairstyles, tattoos, accessories, bikes and, this being 2002, dirty magazines.
  5. Advance the plan. 32 main missions carry the Rock the School scheme to prom, where an important choice feeds one of two endings.

Day-one checklist

Do this Why
Check your rig against the minimum specs GTX 1070-class GPU, 16 GB RAM, 15 GB disk, Windows only
Know the price before you click $26.99 now ($29.99 list, 10% launch discount) — see price
Decide controller vs. mouse Full controller support confirmed
Budget an 8–10 hour story Two sittings if you inhale it; a school week if you savor
Expect indie, not Rockstar The devs themselves say small handcrafted world, simple combat
Plan a pre-prom manual save Two endings exist; branch behavior unverified (our guess, flagged as such)
Check reviews before you commit They started at zero today — see the note below

Calibrate expectations like a senior

Three honest notes. First, Refugium Games’ own store page is refreshingly blunt about scope — straightforward combat, no deep RPG systems, a story you can finish in a long weekend. Take the game on those terms.

Second, July 2026 press previews were rough on polish — animation jank and flat mission moments came up repeatedly. Indie launch builds can improve fast, but that’s the known risk going in.

Third, and most usefully today: there were no user reviews at all before unlock, so there is no crowd verdict yet. If you’re on the fence, the strongest move is to let a few hours of real player reviews accumulate — the launch-week discount doesn’t expire for about seven days, so patience costs you roughly nothing. Our roadmap page tracks how launch day actually shakes out.

Prep the lore side with characters and the band plan, then keep the FAQ in your back pocket.

FAQ

How long is Agefield High: Rock the School?

Refugium Games says 8–10 hours for the main story — 32 main missions plus 15 side missions and activities. Completionist timing is unknown until launch.

Does Agefield High have multiplayer or co-op?

No. The Steam page is explicit: it's a single-player experience from beginning to end. Every student is on their own.

Should I replay it for both endings?

There are two confirmed endings tied to the story's choices, including one at prom. Whether a save before the branch covers both is unknown — we'll test and update at launch.

Does Agefield High support controllers?

Yes — full controller support is listed on Steam, along with Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud saves and Family Sharing.
