Agefield High System Requirements — Can You Run It?
✔ Last checked: 2026-08-18
The short version: a GTX 1070 and 16 GB of RAM gets you in the door, an SSD is mandatory rather than advisory, and there is no Mac, Linux or console version yet.

The three numbers worth pausing on
The SSD line says “required”, not “recommended”. Most games list an SSD as a nicety. Refugium put it in the additional-notes field as a requirement for both tiers. If your library lives on a mechanical hard drive, move this one to an SSD before you launch it — long load times and hitching on a HDD are expected behaviour here, not a bug.
32 GB of RAM as a recommendation is aggressive. For a 15 GB single-player game with no open-world streaming at AAA scale, that figure raises eyebrows. It is consistent with an Unreal project that has not had a memory-optimisation pass, which lines up with what reviewers report about performance in general.
8 GB of VRAM at minimum. Both minimum GPUs are specified with their 8 GB variants. A 4 GB GTX 1050 Ti or a 6 GB 1060 is below the line even though those cards handle plenty of newer-looking games.
Meeting the specs does not guarantee smooth performance
This is the part the requirements table cannot tell you, and it is the single most important thing to know before buying.
Multiple launch reviewers running hardware well above the recommended tier report frame drops, stutter and crashes. One reviewer names an RTX 5070 — a card generations beyond the recommended RTX 3080 — and says they stopped playing over frame-rate problems. Others report clean two-hour sessions with no issues at all on unremarkable machines.
That pattern — wildly inconsistent results across similar hardware — points at optimisation and stability problems rather than raw horsepower. Our performance and crashes page collects what players report actually helps.
Before you buy, in order
- Check your storage type first. SSD is not optional. This is the cheapest problem to rule out.
- Check VRAM, not just the GPU name. The 8 GB variants are what’s specified.
- Check RAM honestly. 16 GB is the floor; if you’re at 16 GB with a browser full of tabs and Discord running, expect that to matter more here than in most games.
- Read the reviews page before spending $26.99. Steam’s rating is Mostly Negative and the complaints are overwhelmingly technical. If you are on borderline hardware, the Steam refund window is your safety net — two hours of playtime, fourteen days.

FAQ
What are the minimum requirements for Agefield High?
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i7-7700K, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 1070 (8GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB), DirectX 12, and 15 GB of storage. An SSD is listed as required, not optional.
What are the recommended requirements?
Ryzen 5 7600X or Core i7-12700K, 32 GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6950 XT, DirectX 12, 15 GB storage, SSD. That 32 GB recommendation is unusually high for a game of this size and scope.
Will Agefield High run on a laptop?
A gaming laptop meeting or beating the GTX 1070 / RX 580 line with 16 GB of RAM and an SSD should launch it. Integrated graphics will not. Note that meeting the specs has not guaranteed smooth performance for everyone — see the performance section below.
Is there a Mac or Linux version?
No. Windows 10/11 64-bit only. There is no native macOS or Linux build, and Steam Deck compatibility had not been rated by Valve as of August 18, 2026.
How much space does Agefield High need?
15 GB of available space, on an SSD. That is small by modern standards, which is part of why some reviewers found the performance complaints surprising.
