Agefield High Languages — All 12 and Which Have Voice

✔ Last checked: 2026-08-18

Twelve languages for text, one for voice. Agefield High localises its interface and subtitles broadly, but every line is spoken in English regardless of what you pick.

Twelve languages is generous for a small studio’s first commercial release — the EFIGS core, three East Asian languages, and Polish, Russian and Turkish on top. Portuguese is Brazilian rather than European; Spanish is Spain rather than Latin American.

What subtitle-only means for this game in particular

For most games this is a footnote. Here it interacts with two specific things.

The comedy is verbal. This is a raunchy early-2000s teen comedy built on dialogue, and jokes are the hardest thing to localise well — timing, slang, cultural references and wordplay all resist direct translation. How well the humour survives in Polish or Korean is a question we cannot answer from the store page, and we would rather say so than assume.

The English voice acting is the game’s most criticised element. Reviewers overwhelmingly describe it as sounding AI-generated, and it is the single most repeated complaint in the negative reviews. If you are playing in another language, you get the subtitles plus that audio track. There is a real argument that non-English players are having a better experience — reading a competent translation while treating the audio as background is a less grating way to consume it than listening closely in English.

The German joke

Worth clearing up because searches conflate them. German appears twice in this game for unrelated reasons:

  1. It is one of the twelve supported interface languages.
  2. German class is one of the five school subjects you take, alongside music and the rest — see the beginner guide. A German-language subject in an American high-school comedy is a period-accurate joke about the least popular elective on the timetable.

Picking German as your interface language does not change anything about German class, and vice versa.

If your language isn’t listed

There is no official route. Community translation mods sometimes appear for games like this, but nothing has been announced and we do not link to unofficial patches without being able to vouch for them. If Refugium adds languages later it would land in the patch notes, which we track on the roadmap.

FAQ

What languages does Agefield High support?

Twelve: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian and Turkish. Interface and subtitles are localised in all twelve.

Does Agefield High have voice acting in my language?

Only English has full audio support. The other eleven languages are text-only — you read subtitles over English voice acting. Given that the voice acting is the game's most criticised element, some players may consider this a feature.

Is there Simplified Chinese support?

Yes, for interface and subtitles. There is no Chinese voice track — the audio stays English.

Does the game have German in it?

Two separate things share the name. German is a supported interface language, and German is also one of the five school subjects you take in-game — an early-2000s teen-comedy joke rather than a localisation feature.
